Design and Technology Textile students visit the Knitting and Stitch show at Alexandra Palace, London

Wednesday, 07 October 2015

Senior Textile pupils enjoyed a fantastic trip to the Knitting and Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace on Wednesday October 7th 2015. We viewed international Textile artist’s work, which this year included an awesome Fishmongers stall which had been created out of fabric fish. We explored textile graduate exhibitions, watched the latest trends in knitwear on the fashion stage and developed a wide range of skills via the expert tuition available on stalls. As always pupils were able to test their skills at knitting and crocheting in the “Pick knit” area and used the latest sewing machines in the Craft centre.
Bo Wood 10H commented I liked looking at all the different market stalls and using the sewing machines to learn new skills. Carolyn Massey 10G said I enjoyed looking at the different types of materials and embroidery stitching machines and Elizabeth Bootle 10C really liked all the different types of beads and pretty things.
