Year 10 Italian Trip to Urbania
Monday, 31 October 2016
On Thursday 20th October, twenty-two pupils from Year 10 travelled to Urbania, Italy. For the following week, we stayed with Italian families and got to experience day-to-day Italian life. The trip was a fantastic chance to learn all about Italian culture, history and it really improved our understanding of the language.
We learned a lot about the history of Urbania, as well as getting the chance to visit its neighbouring town, Urbino. During our trip to Florence, we learned all about the Renaissance and artists such as Botticelli and Michelangelo.
Every day our Italian vocabulary and pronunciation improved, thanks to the support of our host families and Scuola Italia, the school in Urbania dedicated to helping children learn more about the language and Italy in general. The staff there were extremely encouraging and their lessons were memorable.
I think this trip helped everyone thrive and I am sure that we will never forget this amazing experience and everything we learned from it.
